Garden Route Laundry was the first commercial laundry in the Southern Cape

Garden Route Laundry was the first commercial laundry in the Southern Cape that fully complied with the SABS – SANS10146 standards & procedures (SABS – SANS10146 has been designed to eliminate any cross infection between linen and garments). Considering the Health and Safety aspects of infection control we make it our first priority to adhere to strict processes and linen management as prescribed by SABS – SANS 10146 and HACCP.

Garden Route Laundry was originally known as George Laundry Centre and underwent a change of ownership and name to Garden Route Laundry in 2012.  Matthew Luckman breathed new vibrant, youthful life into a company that has, for more than three decades now, serviced some of the Garden Route’s most prestigious establishments.  The laundering market within the Garden Route was in dire need of a professional laundry service with a trustworthy reputation which conducts business in an ethical manner. With this knowledge we made it our mission to identify the Garden Route’s clientele needs and so quickly became the preferred Industrial Laundry in the Western Cape.

Being part of an industry that is a high consumer of electricity and water we feel it is our responsibility to constantly educate ourselves with new, sustainable technology and practices in order to be cautious with the resources available. We continue to strive to become as energy efficient and resource cautious as a laundry possibly can be, creating a mutual benefit between the environment and ourselves.

We have a highly trained staff compliment of over 50 members from our local communities around George, Knysna and Mossel Bay ensuring your garments receive the best care it needs.  Our laundry also provides training to learners from other educational institutions such as the Africa Skills Training College and Carpe Diem School for the Disabled.

GRL focuses on ongoing training, keeping up to date with new technology and methods and the following modules form part of our training sessions:
